Climate Clinic Online Registration

One-hour per week over six- eight weeks, high school students will research, discuss and participate in fun activities as they explore their own school’s carbon footprint related to transportation, solar energy and food waste impact. The purpose of the climate clinics are to prepare high school student teams and youth group teams for the 2023 Sustainability Challenge hosted by the School of Engineering, Catholic University of America on January 20, 2023.

At the Challenge, mixed-school groups will present their rationale for achieving net-zero-carbon for the UCES high school (fictitious high school name. Real-world data). Subject matter experts will rank the presentations and rationale of each group. Top ranked groups will earn prizes which may include internships and career shadowing.

Teachers, youth groups, and community partners who work with or partner with high school students may register groups of up to 30 students to participate. Individual high school students will be assigned to a high school team or youth group.

The kick-off clinic begins the week of October 16, 2022. Subsequent clinics will be virtual.
