We’ve got an important update about Sauk Valley Serve Day—and we want you to hear the heart behind it.
After a lot of prayer and conversation with other local churches, we’ve made the decision to postpone Serve Day to a later date this fall. While the original date of May 3rd was set with excitement, we’ve realized that—because of a busy spring calendar across our community and not enough volunteer signups—we wouldn’t be able to do this event right.
And if we’re going to serve our neighbors, we want to do it well.
We had lined up some great projects in partnership with organizations like local park districts and Sauk Valley Food Bank, and we still plan to serve them with excellence. But rather than rushing into something we can’t fully support, we’re choosing to step back, refocus, and aim for a bigger and better Serve Day later this year.
To everyone who already signed up: THANK YOU. Your willingness to jump in early shows the heart of Jesus and the unity of the Church in action.
We’ll be announcing a new date in the coming months, so stay tuned—and keep looking for ways to serve the people around you in the meantime.
This isn’t a stop—it’s just a shift. And the mission to love our neighbors is still very much alive.
