EUSOG/Footlights Tech and Backstage Expression of Interest Form
Hi everyone! 

Welcome to the EUSOG/Footlights Tech and Backstage expression of interest form! This year's shows are A Chorus Line and Sunday in the Park with George, both are fantastic shows that should be a lot of fun to work on. We want to get as many people on board as we can but depending on interest this might not be possible. You don't need to have any previous experience to sign up, we just want to see your enthusiasm.

In the form, we've asked for your availability as this will significantly impact what sort of roles we can allocate you, so please be honest and realistic about when you are available.

The form will stop accepting submissions on Friday 5th May at 5pm, we may do some interviews over the weekend depending on the role/number of applicants but we’ll aim to let you know as soon as possible if there’s a role for you once these are all wrapped up.

Please note, unfortunately we can’t pay for work done over the Fringe. All profits are invested back into the respective society so that they can keep putting on shows in the future!

EUSOG's 'A Chorus Line'
Show Dates: 14th - 19th August, 5pm

Rehearsal Dates: Available/in Edinburgh for majority of July and August

Venue: Paradise St Augustine's

'This groundbreaking, award-winning concept musical set a new standard for Broadway and remains relevant, poignant, provocative and explosively entertaining today. 'A Chorus Line' celebrates the overdedicated, underpaid and highly trained performers, who usually stand behind the stars. Based on the real lives of the original cast in 1975, this musical follows a rigorous audition to find dancers for a new unnamed Broadway show. The audition process cuts the auditionees down to seventeen, and then a final cut to eight. Instead of reading an audition piece, the director asks the hopefuls to share personal stories of how they came to be a performer. Each life is filled with rejection, pain, heartache, and the sacrifices made in order to achieve their dreams. After a heart-rending roller-coaster of moving solos and impressive dance numbers, the show finishes with the successful few performing the dazzling finale.'

‘Inspired by the painting, A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte by Georges Seurat, Sunday in the Park with George, Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's stunning masterpiece, merges past and present into beautiful, poignant truths about life, love and the creation of art. One of the most acclaimed musicals of our time, this moving study of the enigmatic painter, Georges Seurat, won a Pulitzer Prize and was nominated for an astounding ten Tony Awards, including Best Musical. In the days leading up to the completion of his most famous painting, A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, Georges Seurat is struggling to make meaningful art while maintaining a relationship with his lover, Dot. Amid the scorn of the artistic community, Seurat's artistic ability thrives while his love diminishes. A century later, Seurat's descendant – named George and also an artist – finds himself burnt out and in search of what artistic path to follow, but he finds the answer to his future in the past.'
