The Foundry Maker Fellows Program - Spring 2021
The Foundry Maker Fellows Program is a 6 month program, granting each maker:
- free access to private workspace
- free access to one of our makerspaces
- skill-building focused on earning revenue through making

The goal of this opportunity at The Foundry is to create support for individuals traditionally left out of the maker community based on race, gender, class or other factors.

During this 6 month program, Maker Fellows will have space necessary to hone their individual craft. Participants will learn new skills and develop teaching experience to assist in supporting The Foundry’s programming. Additionally, fellows will work to challenge the stereotypes associated with the maker community, and be part of developing our curriculum which promotes young women and students of color as they develop their own work.

In applying to this program, you are committing to:
-volunteering 20 hours per month to further The Foundry's mission
-attending a 3 hour safety class to access your makerspace of choice (wood, metal, tech, textile)
-attending an initial 3 hour program orientation
-meeting with a mentor/life coach once a month for the duration of the program

Program start dates for 2021 are:
February 2021 - July 2021
July 2021 - December 2021

**depending on covid-19, we may be in contact about a hybrid option. Your individual private studio space will be available throughout, but with a stricter shutdown, access to makerspaces may be limited.**
