Borrower Agreement *

You must agree to all of these conditions to rent the specimens.

Borrower shall keep this agreement with the specimen(s) as proof of legal possession. This agreement acts as a temporary permit for the borrower to possess specimens restricted by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Borrower is responsible for all loan specimens and agrees to reimburse LWE for cost of repair or replacement of any loss or damage.

Each specimen is received in good condition unless otherwise noted.

Each specimen shall be given due care against loss, damage, or deterioration. Light levels, humidity, and temperature will all be monitored to prevent deterioration. If loss, damage, or deterioration occur immediately inform the Natural History Department at LWE, preferably via email.

Specimens loaned by LWE shall remain in the condition in which they were received. The specimens on loan may not be cleaned, repairer, retouched, removed from their mount/case, or altered in any way whatsoever unless given written permission from the Lindsay Wildlife Experience.

Specimens must be protected at all times from fluorescent light, and indirect sunlight with a cloth such as a sheet or plastic sheeting. Direct sunlight is to be avoided at all times.

Specimens must be protected at all times from excessive heat and dry conditions. Specimens should be kept in comfortable, room temperature spaces, recommended temperature between 63 to 77 degrees

Specimens must be protected at all times from rain and excessive humidity. Please use a plastic sheet or bag to cover specimens in case of rain.

Smoking, eating and drinking are not to be allowed anywhere near the loaned specimen(s).

Specimens must remain upright at all times and shall not be placed on the floor or ground without written permission.

LWE is to be given a copy of any photographs taken of specimens. Photographs may not be used for profit without written permission from LWE.

Information about specimens used for catalogs, labels, or any other purpose shall conform to and be consistent with information furnished by LWE and shall always include a credit line to "Lindsay Wildlife Experience, Walnut Creek, CA."

Exhibitions in which specimens borrowed from LWE are shown shall be open to the public without any restrictions and are for educational purposes

Loans made to other institutions by LWE for periods of 6 months or more are subject to recall with a 30 day notice. LWE, if requested, will make every effort to substitute for any specimen so recalled with another similar specimen.

Failure to return specimens on time will result in a fine.
