1) To increase awareness and promote Markham Thunder of the CWHL2) To raise money for the Markham Thunder through the tournament and from raffle3) To provide fun experience for adult women rec hockey players
Rules and Regulations:- Registration fee is $90 per player (or $100 including “Can You Beat the Pro” game)- Each team will consist of maximum 12 skaters and 1 goaltender with 1 pro- All players must be registered and paid. No substitute allowed once tournament starts- Players must bring a black (or dark) and white jersey- Body checking is not permitted, slap shot allowed; please remember this is a recreational tournament- No player is allowed to score more than two goals per game.- No touch icing will be from the red line- If teams are tied with identical records, standing will be determined by head-to-head, number of penalties against, goals against and goals for- Any conflict, disputes or concerns will be subjected to the discretion of the organizers
Administration:- Registration is NON-REFUNDABLE. If you are unable to make the tournament, you may transfer your spot to another player. Efforts will be made to find substitute.- Players must be 18 years old or older.- The organizer will reserve the right to add and/or change the rules- The organizer reserves the rights to prohibit any player from participating and/or suspend player due to any safety concerns or unsportsmanlike conduct- By participating, players agree photographs may be used for online and for promotionalmaterials
Game Format:- Games played 10-10-12 stop time; runtime if goal spread is +5- Teams will play 3 round robin games- Tie games will be played with a 3 on 3 sudden death overtime 5 min runtime with change on the fly only; if game still tied a shootout will occur with best of 3 format followed by sudden death- Each team will be guaranteed 3 games
