Dear Alumni Europae,
As you may know, the Alumni have been organised for a long time in a spirit of sharing. Alumni Europae was created to take over the failed Euresco project almost 10 years ago. Alumni Europae now has over 5,000 members worldwide and local chapters in over 15 cities. Alumni Europae is also in contact with numerous Facebook groups and has a space on Linkedin in addition to the
www.alumnieuropae.org website.
These spaces allow alumni of the European Schools to stay in touch via our association and students in 7th grade to prepare their entry to the university or professional world and students leaving university to find Alumni with whom to share questions about their career.
We are all proud to have had the chance to grow up in multicultural and multilingual schools which have enabled us to learn about other cultures and languages and to discover respect for diversity and tolerance.
That said, we are still finding it difficult to develop, especially due to the lack of sustainable financial support from the European institutions, the Schools, but also from the parents' associations who occasionally give us a small donation but with which we cannot build the future.
We will therefore have to make decisions for the future. One could be to ask for a membership fee. The other could be to ask the Alumni who can and who think that we are an indispensable reality in this time of deleterious identity withdrawal, to make donations to allow us to develop and to face the costs that this represents. The 16 board members are all volunteers and give their time freely to the association because they believe that it is worth it, and are certain that the AE members agree! For the moment, the only cost we have is our website, which is 5,000 euros per year, but due to increased membership and new prospective projects, the costs for the website will increase.
We would be grateful if you could fill in the survey below which will allow us to work on the future of your Alumni Europae!
Thank you very much!
The Board of Directors of Alumni Europae
