We are here to support families in checking that a student’s high school record is accurate, complete, and ready for eventual graduation and, where relevant, tertiary applications.
This review is especially helpful during the high school years, as subject titles, credits, grades, and course continuity all contribute to the final transcript. Parents or legal guardians remain responsible for maintaining correct and up-to-date Applecore information, but this review provides an added layer of guidance and quality control.
This service includes:
- Reviewing the flow of subjects from Grade 9 upward, as relevant, to check for completeness, continuity, relevance, correct spelling, and appropriate course titles.
- Checking whether subject titles and resource descriptions are clear and suitable, especially in the South African context.
- Verifying the correct and consistent application of the grading scale.
- Checking whether credits appear to be applied accurately and consistently.
- Reviewing the student’s credit status on Applecore, including broad credit balance across key subject areas.
- Providing a correction list so that families can clearly see what needs attention.
- Highlighting any graduation-readiness or transcript-alignment concerns that should be addressed.
- Considering the student’s stated tertiary goals and noting relevant transcript watch points where applicable.
- For Grade 12 students: checking alignment with HLA graduation requirements and the HLA Graduation Review, where available.
This service excludes:
- Planning for upcoming academic years.
- Updating Applecore with the recommendations.
- Reviewing the student’s full portfolio or evidence file.
- A second review after the family has made corrections to Applecore.
- Detailed tertiary admissions counselling or institution-specific application support.
Important pre-requisite: The current year’s Applecore information must be loaded before the review can be completed meaningfully.
Prioritisation: Grade 12 Transcript Reviews are prioritised first, especially where graduation timelines are approaching. Reviews for other grades are then completed in order of urgency and availability.
Direction to families: This review is not only useful for correcting current records. It can also help families identify areas to watch as they plan the upcoming years. Where broader planning is needed, Kairos may recommend a separate Graduation Plan Consultation, Calibrate Consultation, or Applecore Support service
Service Fees:
- Primary School (Gr R–8): R250/student (review of one primary year)
- Grade 9: R300/student (review of Grade 9 year)
- Grade 10: R450/student (review of Grades 9–10)
- Grade 11: R600/student (review of Grades 9–11)
- Grade 12: R750/student (review of Grades 9–12)(inclued in the Kairos Senior fee; this is the cost of a second review)
