Larry Gulley Scholarship 2021 Nomination Form
Use this form if you wish to nominate someone other than yourself for this scholarship. Nominations are due midnight, September 23, 2021. Qualified nominees who have not submitted an application by midnight September 23, 2021 will receive an invitation, via email, to submit a full application. Applications will be due midnight, September 30, 2021. Nominations will be factored into the scholarship selection process.

ABOUT

The Society of Georgia Archivists each year awards a scholarship for attendance at the organization's annual meeting in the fall and for one year membership in SGA. The purpose of the scholarship is to enhance archival education, membership, and participation in the profession. The scholarship is named for Larry Gulley, a loyal member of the Society of Georgia Archivists who gave stellar service to the organization in many capacities.

The registration fee for the successful 2021 Gulley Scholarship applicant will be waived by the Society of Georgia Archivists. Additionally, the recipient of the scholarship will also receive an Annual Membership to SGA (or a 1 year renewal if a current member) and a $100 credit to apply to a Society of American Archivists (SAA) class or a purchase in the SAA bookstore. Award recipients will also receive an award certificate.

Please note that the scholarship winner is responsible for submitting their Annual Meeting registration form by the registration deadline.

After the SGA meeting, the recipient will submit a brief article on the experience for use in the SGA Newsletter.

ELIGIBILITY

Individuals eligible to compete for the scholarship are:

      Those engaged in compensated or volunteer archival work at any level in an institution in the state of  
      Georgia

      SGA members employed outside the state of Georgia

      Graduate students preparing for a career in archives at a college or university in Georgia
     
      SGA student members studying outside the state of Georgia.

Preferences will be given to applicants who do not have access to institutional support for attending the fall annual meeting. Individuals may apply or be nominated by a supervisor or instructor.
