Orchard Volunteer Day | now 4/28 *POSTPONED DUE TO RAIN*
Our next door neighbors, homeschool co-op ILM Tree (Inspired Learning for Muslims) are co-hosting a FREE Orchard Community Day and Branches event, from 11-3pm with Sienna Ranch. We decided to postpone the event to Saturday April 28th since our earlier date was impacted by strong rains. We hope you'll join us 4/28!

BACKGROUND:
In March 2015, The Urban Farmers, ILM Tree and Sienna Ranch organized our communities to come together and plant an orchard so that we could grow fruit for local food banks. A few times a year we call the community back to help tend to the orchard, have fun, and get to know each other better.

ILM Tree is comprised of a group of over 35 Muslim families who have chosen to come together to support one another in the education and upbringing of each other’s children.

Despite working in close proximity to Lamorinda children and their families, many locals have not had the chance to meet the ILM Tree community. The Branches Community Events exist as an opportunity to meet ILM Tree families, to ask questions, hear who ILM Tree is, learn what they are doing, and understand what their hopes for their children’s futures are.

The March 3rd ILM Tree Branches Event plans to utilize the nurturing land of Sienna Ranch to provide wholesome activities which our children can enjoy together. The focus of Branches will be on families and children as we truly believe in planting the seeds now which will bear fruit in the future. Branches will only be possible if families from the greater community choose to participate with us. We will happily provide the education and sharing, the activities, the venue, etc. We just need you to bring your beautiful children and your open hearts. We hope you will join us for this important endeavor.

We are excited for this opportunity to introduce our ILM Tree Family to the Sienna Ranch community and hope you are able to join us,

Please wear clothes you're comfortable getting muddy, dusty and dirty. Close-toed shoes required. Bring snacks, water for the family and garden gloves if you have them! We will provide all tools and tasks appropriate for children ages 8 and up. Children younger than 8 may need one-on-one adult assistance. Childcare is not provided so we do ask that families bring enough adults so that young children can be fully supervised on uneven terrain.
