Greetings in the name of St. Thomas Aquinas!
We are 4th year students from the College of Commerce in Business Administration of University of Santo Tomas (UST) and are currently taking up Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Human Resource Management. We humbly ask you to partake in our survey entitled ”The Perceived Influence of Job Resources on Gen Z Employees’ Intent to Stay: A Study of Compensation and Benefits, Achievement and Recognition, and Personal Growth and Development in Metro Manila”.
Purpose of the Survey
This study holds significant value by identifying which specific job resources—compensation and benefits, achievement and recognition, or personal growth and development—are perceived by Generation Z employees in Metro Manila as most influential for their intent to stay. Its findings provide organizations and HR practitioners in this key economic region with actionable, evidence-based strategies to effectively retain Gen Z talent—a demographic increasingly dominating the workforce—enabling optimized resource allocation towards impactful retention initiatives (e.g., targeted compensation structures, recognition programs, or development pathways).
Social Relevance
The study addresses conflicting findings and a specific gap in understanding Gen Z retention drivers within Metro Manila's unique socio-economic context (inflation and hybrid work). Its findings provide actionable, evidence-based strategies for local organizations to optimize resource allocation, reduce costly attrition, and meet Gen Z employee expectations, fostering a more stable and committed workforce in this key economic region.
Subject Participation
This survey targets Generation Z regular employees (born 1995-2015) of Metro Manila, aged 18–30, regardless of gender.
Study Procedure
You are asked to complete a self-administered questionnaire relating to employee intent to stay and job resources, specifically Compensation and Benefits, Achievement and Recognition, and Personal Growth and Development. The questionnaire has 5 sections, beginning with your consent, then background information. The succeeding sections contain questions about compensation and benefits, achievement and recognition, personal growth and development, and your intent to stay. Your response will be recorded after you submit the survey, which will conclude your participation in the research. You will not be contacted for further questions after conducting the survey.
Duration
Your participation in answering this questionnaire will take about 5 to 15 minutes only.
Risks
The study ensures strict confidentiality by anonymizing all survey responses and securely storing data—risk of breach is minimal. Your participation implies acknowledgment of the protocols and acceptance of minimal risk.
Benefit
Although respondents do not receive direct benefits, their participation is vital in helping companies develop sustainable human resource strategies to strengthen the employees’ intent to stay.
Confidentiality
All data to be collected in the study will be coded to protect the participants' identities. No names or personally identifiable details will be included in discussions or reports, and all files and data will be securely stored in a restricted folder via Google Drive. Only the researchers and the research adviser will have access to your questionnaire. The data will be deleted permanently after 1 year from the study’s publication.
Costs/Payment
There is no cost nor payment involved for the participation in this research.
Voluntary Participation
Deciding to participate in this study is entirely voluntary and will not compromise nor affect the care, services, or benefits that an individual is entitled to. Withdrawal from your participation in this study can be done at any time without incurring any penalties.
