Building Use Request

All requests are required to have a common purpose with and to not be in conflict with the mission and Statement of Faith of James Island Christian Church.


  1. The person desiring to secure the facility for use, (hereinafter “Group Representative” or “You”), shall serve as the liaison between the James Island Christian Church (“JICC”) and the group and must be present during the entire event/meeting. Group Representative assumes responsibility for the group by signing this Agreement (and any related forms) and for ensuring all fees are paid on time. If fees are not timely paid per this Agreement, JICC reserves the right to cancel usage of facilities due to default and retain any fees or deposits that have been paid. Group Representative is responsible for ensuring the group abides by the guidelines established in this Agreement. By signing this Agreement, the Group Representative states he/she has received and understands the guidelines for JICC building use.
  2. Group Representative shall be responsible to confine his/her group to only those areas reserved and use only the equipment available to them as defined in this Agreement. Group Representative shall not assign any rights of this Agreement.
  3. Group Representative agrees to use the utmost care in the use of this facility and agrees to leave the facility in good, clean condition. All furniture (ie: chairs/tables) or equipment in this facility shall not be moved outside of the facility for any reason. It is our expectation that, even in contracting a Custodian, you will use the facilities with care and leave all areas used in a reasonable condition of cleanliness. The Custodian is not responsible to clean up any areas behind you or the group, ie: dishes used, decorations, food/drink spills, etc. Group Representative is to be responsible to make sure all areas are left properly in order.
  4. Group Representative understands that there may be other activities held on the campus during the time of your event (ie: athletic games, Bible studies, etc.). JICC and James Island Christian School (“JICS”) reserves the right to schedule and/or hold other activities and events on the campus in areas not reserved for your event.
  5. Signage: Group Representative is responsible to have prior approval for interior or exterior signage and how it will be secured to any area. Group Representative is responsible to make sure all signage is removed at the end of the event.
  6. Group Representative will be given the phone number of the JICC Caretaker. All emergencies are to be immediately reported to the Caretaker assigned to the event. If an alarm goes off in the building, Group Representative is to direct everyone to vacate the premises until permission to re-enter is given from the Caretaker.
  7. Smoking and alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited anywhere on the campus.
  8. JICC is not responsible for property left within the facility.
  9. No pets are allowed except those assisting person with a disability.
  10. JICC does not make any expressed or implied warranty of the premises, equipment, machinery, fixtures or furnishings.
  11. Depending on the nature of your event, you may be required to provide a Certificate of Insurance and to add JICC as an additional insured on your liability insurance policy.  If required, you will be asked to provide this documentation within 10 days of event approval by JICC.
  12. For wedding requests on the JICC campus to be considered, at least one member of the wedding party must be a covenant member of JICC and a JICC pastor must agree to oversee the wedding ceremony.


HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT

In consideration of receiving permission to use the facility described in this Agreement, the Group Representative hereby agrees to indemnify, defend and hold JICC and JICS, its members, agents, employees, boards, successors and assigns harmless from and against any claims, actions, or demands alleging that JICC or JICS has any liability to and including any third party arising from the use of the facility.

Neither JICC nor JICS are liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, or use or cost of procurement of substitute services or goods incurred by You or any third party arising out of the use of the facility under this Agreement.

I have read and fully understand all sections of this two-page Agreement. I request the usage of this facility as indicated on this Agreement, and I accept, agree to, and will in all respects fully and timely comply with this Agreement in connection with such usage, including all future JICC guidelines, requirements, restrictions and other provision that may be adopted by JICC after the signing of this Agreement and are communicated on behalf of JICC to me prior to the use of the facility. Furthermore, I agree with the STATEMENT OF FAITH of James Island Christian Church as stated HERE.

Usage

Check below what areas you will need, then return the form and we will contact you after we have determined campus availability and the total costs to use this facility for your event. (The Building Use fee goes to maintain the facility and is not used for profit

Coordinate all specific set up requests with JICC Staff via email - matt@jicc.us.  

Any changes in stage arrangements (Dority Hall or Sanctuary) to be done by JICC personnel only.  An arrangement fee may be charged based on the breakdown/set up requested and will need to be approved in advance by JICC Administration.  

Dority Kitchen - Food events must be catered and all food preparation completed off-site.  The stove, oven, refrigerators/freezers, and coffee pots are NOT available for use.  You must provide your own ice and coolers to sustain you cold goods and refreshments.

Dority Hall can be set up with round tables that seat 8 people each, plus additional chairs for use in the hall.
