This summit will be held on October 23 & 24 from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm on the 17th Floor of the Denny's Corporate Headquarters (203 E Main St, Spartanburg, SC 29319). Parking instructions will be emailed to participants prior to the event. Registration is required for this event!
Educators are invited to attend a 2-day summit to learn evidence-based strategies for addressing mental health disorders in schools. The program is developed by Mental Fitness, Inc., SC Thrive, and The Forrester Center in collaboration with over 30 individuals and agencies working on the Behavioral Health Task force in Spartanburg. The symposium will feature presentations and workshops by experts in the fields of suicide prevention, depression and other mental health disorders, addictions and substance use disorders, resilience, trauma and other prevention strategies. Educators will learn valuable skills and best practices to help students who may be experiencing mental health and substance use disorders. Participants will connect with over a dozen local agencies and referral resources and gain an in-depth understanding of available services in the area. There is no cost for educators in Spartanburg, Union and Cherokee Counties and lunch will be provided, courtesy if Carolina Center for Behavioral Health.
