The Oscar Hammerstein Museum and Theatre Education Center ("the museum") accepts artifact donations that fit our mission and further our educational and interpretive goals. Each potential donation is carefully reviewed by the Collections Committee, overseen by the Board of Directors, and governed by the museum's Collections Management Policy.
To help the museum review your donation offer, please complete the form below. Upon receipt of your inquiry, our Collections Committee will be in touch to further discuss the object(s) and possible next steps.
Filling out this form does not guarantee that a donation will be accepted into the collection.
Completion and submission of this form by, or on behalf of, the donor(s) confirms that the
donor(s) has read the following criteria, agrees to the terms of the potential donation, and confirms that
the object(s) meets the museum’s guidelines for acquisition:
- related to the museum ’s mission and its strategic goals;
- in acceptable condition or is accompanied by appropriate financial support for care or restoration;
- has clear, unquestioned ownership by donor(s);
- is within the museum’s capability to provide adequate conservation, care and
maintenance; and
- the museum’s current intent is to hold the object permanently or for as long as the object retains physical integrity or usefulness.
All donations are to be outright and unconditional. The museum cannot guarantee that
objects donated will be placed or remain on display, or that they will be exhibited or stored as a single collection. In addition, please be aware that the Oscar Hammerstein Museum and Theatre Education Center retains full authority for curatorial and other decisions pertaining to the object(s) including but not limited to classification, use, interpretation, conservation, and deaccessioning of objects.
