Summer Camp will be held on four Thursdays (June 29, July 13, 20, 27) from 4:00 - 5:30 pm at the University of Vermont Eleanor M. Luse Center.
The children will work with two student clinicians, Morgan and Elizabeth, and interact with one another through play-based activities in a relaxed and accepting atmosphere. Parents will meet in another room, with an opportunity to discuss experiences or questions about the kiddos' stuttering with the supervising clinician, Danra Kazenski, CCC-SLP.
Some examples of activities carried out in the past include: practicing voluntary stutters, building obstacle courses to help visualize stutters, creating a stuttering game board and "Stuttercraft" movie, and interacting with older mentors who stutter about their experiences with stuttering. The final day of camp always ends with a stuttering "flash mob" at Ben & Jerry's, where we hope to get free ice cream for all people who stutter and their families, like last year!
If you and your child are interested in attending camp, please fill out the following form. Ideally, each family will be able to attend all four sessions, but it is ok to sign up if you need to miss one week for vacation or another scheduling conflict. You may note that information below. Please contact email@example.com with any questions.
We look forward to seeing you this summer-- Go Team Stuttering!
**Participation is based on a first come, first serve basis . You will be contacted once the attendance list is finalized (cap of 6 families).**
Payment ($125) will be due on or before the first day of camp. Thanks!
