Westridge OBOB '19-'20 signups
What is the Oregon Battle of the Books?
The Oregon Battle of the Books, OBOB, is a statewide voluntary reading motivation and comprehension program sponsored by the Oregon Association of School Libraries in conjunction with a Library Services and Technology Act grant. Students in 3rd-12th grade, regardless of ability, are exposed to quality literature representing a variety of literary styles and viewpoints. There are 16 books chosen by state OBOB volunteers.
Teams of three to five divide up the books and read them in preparation for school “battles.” Only four members will be able to participate in a battle, so teams of five will need to create a rotating schedule so all members can participate.
Please sign up kids by Oct 31 to give us time to place as many students as possible on teams and also to give kids time to meet as teams and read, read, read before February!
Westridge's OBOB competition will be held on Saturday, FEBRUARY 8, 2020 in the Westridge Gym.
