New England Intellectual Freedom Helpline Reporting Form
The New England Intellectual Freedom Helpline connects librarians experiencing materials challenges or other intellectual freedom issues with fellow librarians who can offer assistance, support, and direct them to additional resources.

Please do not use your professional email. Be mindful of public records requests.

You may ask that your request be anonymous to everyone except the volunteer assigned to you. However, general information provided on this form will be shared with our member state associations' volunteers, the New England Intellectual Freedom Helpline Steering Committee, and the ALA's Office of Intellectual Freedom for general data collection purposes. Any conversations with your volunteer will remain ENTIRELY CONFIDENTIAL. Again, you may request anonymity; your volunteer is the only person who needs to know your details.

The New England Intellectual Freedom Helpline is intended to convey general information only and not to provide legal advice or opinions. Information received should not be construed as, and should not be relied upon for, legal advice in any particular circumstance or fact situation. The information may not reflect the most current legal developments. An attorney should be contacted for advice on specific legal issues.

Please know that we are volunteers, but we aim to respond within 24 hours during regular business hours. A volunteer will be assigned to you as quickly as possible.
