Lightning Talks - 2019 Local Food Forum
The goal of lightning talks is to articulate a topic in a quick, insightful, and clear manner. These concise and efficient talks are intended to grab the attention of the audience, convey key information, and allow for several presenters to share their ideas in a brief period of time.

Lightning talks are designed to be short presentations just 3-4 minutes long. During the Local Food Forum on March 18 there will be a 45 minute session (11:30am-12:15pm) during which folks are invited to present their lightning talk. Talks are arranged one after the other during the sessions. These talk slots are intended to promote active participation by attendees and to cover multitude of topics important to people in our area. Lightning talks are brief which requires the speaker to make their point clearly and rid the presentation of non-critical information. This causes the audience to be more attentive to the speaker and gain a broader array of knowledge from the presentations given.

We are seeking proposals for lightning talks from the attendees of the 2019 Local Food Forum. Please enter your proposal below. We will review your proposal and get back to you promptly regarding whether or not your topic has been approved. For those selected to present, we will create one presentation slide with the name of your presentation and your contact information to be displayed during your lightning talk.

The spirit of this event is to bring our community together around innovative and novel ideas surrounding all aspects of food systems. Please make your voice heard and let us know what interesting and vital work you are up to!

Please email questions to John Mischler -

NOTE ---> All topics must be pre-approved BEFORE the day of the event. Deadline for proposals is 5pm Sunday, March 17.
