6th Annual Berkeley Vegan Earth Day!

Thank you SO much for your interest in volunteering at the event, I really appreciate it! I couldn’t do these events without the help of wonderful people like you :)

About BVED:

Sunday April 17th @ The David Brower Center in Berkeley, time TBD, Cooking Demo's, Presentations, Vendors, and more.

The event started off as a small evening event with 150 people and has turned into a big 500 person event.

BVED is really unique and special to me and everyone and it will be a great experience for you.

Volunteers receive breakfast, lunch, snacks, and a gift bag full of goodies at the end of the day.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!

Available Volunteer Positions

Set-up (8:30am-9:30am) and break-down (3pm-4pm)

****Everyone will be asked to help with set-up and break-down to speed up the process, it's not a separate position****

You won’t be asked to do any heavy lifting (the tables and chairs will already be set-up), just helping to set-up a few things. At the end we just need to pack everything up quickly and make sure everyone is out, nothing is left behind, etc. No breaking down table or chairs, again no heavy lifting of any kind.

Registration 9am-2:30pm (3 positions)
Must have access to your own laptop and be proficient with computers, really friendly, professional, be able to think quickly and remain calm under pressure. You will get training at 9am, doors open at 9:30am, and you will have some breaks during the quiet times to walk around, and you will all get a lunch break.

BVED HQ Table 9:30am-3pm (3 positions)
Must be really friendly and outgoing, answer questions about the event, ask attendees to sign-up for the Veg Food Events table, give out samples, give speakers their gift bags. During quieter times you can walk around if you check with one of the managers first

Time Keepers / Introduce Speakers 10am-2:45pm (2 positions)
Must be comfortable speaking in front of a crowd, you will introduce the speakers and sit in the front with signs to remind the speakers when they have 10 minutes left, 5 minutes left, and when it’s time to stop. There is a 15 minute break in between each speaker so you can walk around during those times but you must be in room a couple of minutes before the talk starts to see if the speaker needs any help.

Floater 8:30am-3pm (1 position)
Must be ready to tackle anything and everything throughout the whole day :)

All volunteers get lunch, snacks, and beverages, a gift bag with all kinds of goodies
