Designed for both experienced and new teachers in the 6th - 12th grade classroom, the program will explore the new History Social Science Framework to help teachers integrate its contents into the current repertoire. Featuring:
• Discussion of the instructional shifts in the new HSS Curriculum Framework • Content talks for each grade level from local Professors with model lessons • Disciplinary strategies and support for classroom inquiry • CCSS and ELD strategies through the HSS Framework • Technology tips
Registration: $225/person for all four sessions. Or $60/person for each individual session. Sessions meet from 4:15pm-6:45pm at the Sutter Square Galleria in Sacramento.
Session #1 - A Deeper Look at the Framework: Focus on the 4-shifts. Session #2 - Power of the Federal Government (lessons for 8th and 12th) Session #3 - The War on Terror: US & World Perspectives (lessons for 10th and 11th) Session #4 - Persia as a Site of Encounter (lessons for 6th and 7th)
