Peace and God's Mercy and Grace be unto you.
Thank you for showing interest in the Kawthar Learning Circle! May Allah (swt) facilitate your journey towards the pursuit of godly knowledge!
The Kawthar Learning Circle has started on January of 2016. Since then, only through word of mouth, well over one hundred students from around the world have joined. Students from numerous cities around the world are with us today including Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Hamilton, Winnipeg, Vancouver, Edmonton, Michigan, Texas, California, Connecticut, Dar es Salaam, Abu Dhabi, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Minnesota, Bhopal and others. Thanks to this our collective experience has been enriched with findings that enable us to take the next step in this learning service.
The KLC study program is based on a detailed series of readings, lectures and discussions, all of which are carefully designed under the direct supervision of Sh. Dr. Mohammad Ali Shomali. The students will be evaluated on exams, assignments, and projects.
The KLC study program is driven by a term-based curriculum. The workload is based on 4 hours a week and approximately 15 minutes of lecture time per day. Each term is made up of 12 weeks for studying the material, 2 weeks for review, 1 week for exams, and 1 week for exam corrections. At the end of each term, there will be an exam for each of the term’s courses. A detailed outline for students is available on the student portal.
The KLC curriculum currently consists of three separate programs:
Level 1: Islamic Foundations (One Year Program)
This program is designed to provide the foundational knowledge required for all Muslims. It consists of Islamic Beliefs, Theory of Education, Understanding the Quran, Self Development, and Social Wilayah.
Level 2: Islamic Studies (Two Year Program)
This program is designed to expand on the knowledge gained in the previous program. It will be especially useful for parents, educators, community volunteers, those involved in interfaith work, and those interested in pursuing further studies.
Level 3: Islamic Sciences (Two Year Program)
This program is designed to serve as an introduction to some of the core Islamic Sciences that are studied in the Hawza Ilmiyyah (Seminary).
New students are automatically admitted into the Islamic Foundations (One Year Program). On successful completion of that program, they can apply to join the second level program and subsequently for the third level program. A detailed outline for students is available on the student portal.
