The CFPB has released a Request for Information about it's financial education programs. This comment letter from the Illinois Asset Building Group (IABG) stresses the importance of their financial capability tools and resources, encourages them to ensure that they remain free and accessible, and urges them to create materials on additional topics and in more languages. We also emphasize that their financial education work is not a substitute for strong consumer protections through their regulation and enforcement.
