Brown Market Shares Program connects the Brown and neighboring communities with weekly shares of local, sustainably-grown food. This season, we are offering produce shares as well as additional shares of dairy, bread, mushrooms, eggs, and meat!

We are excited to announce that our beloved Narragansett Creamery yogurt shares will also be back!!!

BMSP offers both full-cost and subsidized shares to make fresh, local produce accessible to members of the Brown and RISD communities, as well as the wider Providence community. By offering lower-cost share options, weekly payment plans, and direct contact with our Finance Coordinator, the Subsidized Program works to cut across financial and communication barriers that might otherwise prohibit potential shareholders from joining the program. We have almost no overhead costs, are entirely volunteer-run, and work exclusively with local family farms and local distributers. 

WE BELIEVE EVERYONE DESERVES ACCESS TO HEALTHY, LOCAL, AND SUSTAINABLY-SOURCED FOOD!

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS THE SIGN-UP FOR SUBSIDIZED-COST SHARES ONLY. Sign-ups for our full-cost program can be found via email, instagram (@market_shares), and our website (brownmarketshares.com). 

Our subsidized program is available to residents of Providence, including Brown and RISD staff, faculty, and graduate students. 

Subsidized shares are not available to undergraduate students-- more information on why can be found here: http://www.brownmarketshares.com/about-subsidized. This reason largely stems from the inability to thoroughly evaluate financial need of undergraduates. Some exceptions may be made, please email Nikhil at subsidized@brownmarketshares.com with questions. 

The Fall 2026 Market Share Season will run every week for 10 weeks from Thursday, September 24th — Thursday, December 3rd, except for Thursday, November 26 (Thanksgiving Day). Distribution will take place every Thursday on College Hill in Alumnae Hall (194 Meeting St) from 12 - 6pm. Specific directions will be provided on our website (brownmarketshares.com) and instagram (@market_shares). 

All subsidized participants must purchase at least one produce share. This fall share will be colorful, hearty, and, as always, delicious!!!!!

MASQUERADE POTATOES (1 1/2 lb) from Wishing Stone Farm 
MIXED DAIKON RADISHES (1 lb) from Langwater Farm 
SHALLOTS (1/2 lb) from Zephyr Farm 
BUTTERNUT SQUASH (1 squash) from Schartner Farms 
SPINACH (⅓ lb bag) from Ward’s Berry Farm 
MCINTOSH APPLES (3 apples) from Barden Family Orchard
