YPAHD Day Funding Application

Young People Affected by Huntington Disease (YPAHD), the youth chapter of the Huntington Society of Canada (HSC) is proud to present YPAHD Day 2023!

This one-day conference designed specifically for youth affected by HD (14-35 years of age), will be held at the Sheraton Fallsview in Niagara Falls, ON on Thursday, November 16, 2023.  YPAHD Day will present information and topics of interest to youth and will be followed by the HSC National Conference on November 17th and 18th. HSC is proud to provide funding assistance for a select number of YPAHD Chapter delegates to attend the one-day youth conference, as well as the National Conference. Assistance MAY include one or more of the following (dependent on quantity of qualified applications received and specific funding support requested):
  • Complimentary registration for YPAHD Day  and HSC National Conference (approx. $600 value)
  • 4 nights' shared accommodation in a standard room at the Sheraton Fallsview (approx. $300 value)
  • Flight subsidy of up to $500, or mileage subsidy of up to $120
Those flying to Conference will also be able to book a shuttle from Toronto Pearson to Niagara Falls with Niagara Airbus. Receipts can be submitted if using the terms negotiated by HSC with Niagara Airbus.

IMPORTANT DATES!
  • Applications must be received by JUNE 23, 2023. 
  • Once your funding is approved, you must complete all registration steps received from HSC by August 1, 2023. If you do not complete all steps by this date, your funding will expire and return to the general pool of funds to be reallocated for other interested youth.
  • YPAHD Day is Thursday, November 16. Please only apply for funding and register if you intend to attend this event. A "no-show" for this event can cost HSC up to $1000 in fees to the hotel and other vendors.
The funding review committee will assess each application with preference given to: 
  • Those within the YPAHD age range (14-35)
  • Those who are actively involved with HSC/YPAHD (through youth mentorship, participation in YPAHD activities, or leading/attending events with your local Chapter).
  • Those who are the only individual within their household requesting funding to attend YPAHD Days
