Challenger 1 Cadet Squadron March 7th Model Rocketry Launch Sign-up
We have scheduled a model rocketry launch trip to the NOVAAR Rocketry section (http://novaar.org) for cadets and senior members at Great Meadows Field, The Plains, VA. Members of other squadrons are welcome to sign-up as well with squadron commander permission.

Participating in the model rocket launches with a pre-built rocket is recommended. There may be opportunities to see mid and high-power rockets at this launch but no other activities are planned. You will be required to bring your own rockets and motors. If you need motors 1st Lt Strait has some spare A class motors still available for squadron members from the Goddard launch last summer.

Additionally 1st Lt Strait will be making his first mid-power launch at this event with his Striker Missile replica rocket and possibly a high-power certification flight.

Date: March 7, 2020
Time: Departure at 0900 from T.C. Williams, Event time is 1000. Returning approx 4pm depending on traffic.
UOD: BDU/ABU with appropriate weather gear.
Cost: $1 per launch for non-NOVAAR members. The squadron will pay for any DC060 cadets who launch for credit towards their rocketry badge.
Food: Bring own lunch and water.
Parents and Guests are welcome to attend but are responsible for their own transportation.

Travel on I-66 west to The Plains Exit #31
South on Old Tavern Rd. approximately 2 miles (Rt. 245) to Great Meadow;
Enter gate marked 'Rocket Launch' on left side of road;
Take the first left (immediately after you enter the Great Meadow property), which is a gravel road
Then take the first gravel road on the right, follow the signs to the launch area.
Park in the designated areas.
