WELCOME TO CALLICOON CHINOOKS
This is our chance to get to know you and your family. If you do not know the answer to a question, please just say “Not sure” or something along those lines. We know that for many of our puppy applicants this may be your first dog – That’s fine! We just want to get an idea of what type of puppy will be the best fit for you.

It may seem like a long questionnaire, but we are committing to a 12-15 year relationship with you and your family. We want to make sure it will work out the best for everyone, especially the puppy. Thanks for taking the time to answer honestly, openly and thoughtfully.

Your answer
What puppy & training classes are available to you locally?
We require that all puppies attend puppy class and a basic training class. We strongly urge that you maintain a relationship with a local trainer and suggest participation in more advanced classes like agility or rally as well.
Your answer
What do you plan on feeding the puppy? Why?
Your answer
Do you plan on spaying or neutering this dog?
We understand that many families are simply looking for a pet. We suggest for the health of your puppy that you delay spaying or neutering until at least one year of age. Please ask us about this if you have questions. Chinooks are a rare breed. We are always looking for families willing to keep a puppy intact to be evaluated for breeding at the age of two, and who would be open to helping the breed by raising a litter with our support and mentoring.
What is your timeframe for getting a puppy? Are you willing to wait for the right dog?
Your answer
We select the puppies for each family, since we know our pups better than anyone else. How do you feel about this? (Note: even if approved, if we do not have a puppy who matches you, we will not sell you a puppy from that litter)
Your answer
What do you expect from us as your puppy's breeder?
Your answer
Are you willing to stay in close contact with us, openly discuss any training or health problems you have, and agree to return the pup to us should you be unable/unwilling to keep the dog?
We request that you x-ray your dog's hips at the time of neutering or at 2 years of age for intact animals and that you obtain at least two CERF eye exams so that we can track any problems. Are you willing to do this?
What questions/concerns do you have? Please feel free to ask any questions about our dogs
