Redfish Counseling is hosting a Virtual DBT Skills Group for individuals looking to enhance their skills for navigating the difficult things life throws our way. Group sessions will focus on the
core components of DBT therapy. These include:
mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and
emotion regulation. The group will be led by
Tiffany Franzo and
Sydney Elder. The following survey will gather some basic information from you that will help us get you connected to the group and to learn about your interest.
Read below for key information about group structure:When and how will the group meet?
→ Starting May 8th, sessions will take place on Wednesdays from 4:30-6:00pm, for 5 weeks. Sessions will be held online via our convenient teleconferencing system.
How many people can join the group?
→ This group will be limited to 15 participants at a time, reserved on a first-come-first-served basis.
What should I expect in group meetings?
→ Participants will have opportunities to learn about and practice strategies that help cultivate success in each of the core component areas listed above. While this is not a "therapy group," participants will receive support through listening and sharing different strategic perspectives on the problems and skills addressed in sessions.
→ Sessions will challenge participants to use skills learned in group. These skills will help improve the ways participants think about, feel, and respond to life stressors. Group meetings will offer opportunities to find more effective ways to deal with these and future challenges.
How much does the group cost?
→ Group sessions are billed at $40 each ($200 total for all 5 sessions)
→ This group is not eligible for insurance billing
→ While not required, additional external materials may be recommended for participants to get the most out of their group experience. Participants can purchase these on their own, or reimburse Redfish Counseling for direct purchases of these materials on their behalf.
