Local Program that Increases Employability (LPIE) Formal Letter/Documentation Request Form
Please use this form to submit a formal request to SJSU Cares for a formal document outlining you are part of an approved Local Program that Increases Employability (LPIE) at San José State University.

Before Submitting....
  • Know that an individual letter stating you are in an Local Program that Increases Employability (LPIE) is not often required by a county’s Social Services Agency staff when applying for CalFresh/SNAP.  We encourage you to apply with application assistance (sjsu.edu/calfresh) to ensure you meet other eligibility requirements of this federally funded program.
  • When applying, select the box under “Students have special requirements” "I'm in a college program that trains me for a job (LPIE)"
  • If you’ve received an individualized (with your name at the top) email about being in an LPIE you can make a PDF of that email and upload it to your application/provide to the county.
Submit a request if...
  • If the county’s Social Services Agency staff (Not Second Harvest sign up assisters) asks for a copy of the letter we’d be happy to create that letter for you at that time.
