I recognize that Fitch Mountain has been utilized for decades by bicyclists, hikers, dog walkers and even occasional equestrians without "user conflicts".

I support the accessibility of local bicycle trails for local residents, families, and people of all ages.

I believe Fitch Mountain is a valuable resource for everyone in Sonoma County, but especially so for nearby residents.

I recognize that having a nearby place for all to play will encourage outdoor activity and healthy lifestyles, and will improve the sense of local community.

I believe that bicycles belong in our community's open spaces, and to whatever extent possible need to be included in the planning process.

I encourage the City of Healdsburg to partner with positive, helpful and energetic volunteer organizations such as the Redwood Empire Mountain Bike Alliance, the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition and the Sonoma County Trails Council to help plan and maintain public access on Fitch Mountain, including bicycle access.
