The West Roxbury Lateral is a high pressure fracked gas pipeline being built in a densely populated neighborhood of Boston. Construction of the pipeline began last year and is scheduled to resume in mid-April.
We believe that through a combination of grassroots community organizing and a campaign of civil disobedience, we can stop it. While legal challenges to FERC’s approval of this project are underway, it will be several months before the case will even be heard and the chances that the court will overrule FERC are very low. A campaign of civil disobedience remains our best strategy for stopping this dangerous and ill-conceived project. By stopping this pipeline, we can set an example for others fighting fossil fuel infrastructure around the county.
We're asking community groups, unions, religious congregations, and environmental and social justice organizations to fill out this form to become official endorsers of the resistance.
