NON-CLASS KILN FIRING & RENTALS:

We currently offer 6 online ceramics courses for all ages. Included in those course costs are kiln firing fees, which factor in paying our ceramics technicians, material costs, and kiln costs. This form, however, is for members who want to do one of the following **outside** of our online classes:

-- PURCHASE CLAY

-- PURCHASE UNDERGLAZE

-- PURCHASE GLAZE

-- FIRE CERAMICS

-- RENT A WHEEL AT HOME

-- PRIVATE STUDIO USE


PRICES & REIMBURSEMENTS:

The prices listed below factor in payment to our administrative staff, kiln technicians, and maintenance costs. The pandemic has financially impacted us greatly. It has been difficult to pay bills but we are pursuing ways to meet this challenge head-on.

We are testing out this new system and might make necessary changes once we learn what to improve. If any service is changed, paused, or discontinued, we will calculate appropriate prorated reimbursements. We value your feedback as we test out these following services.

-- Clay and kiln firing are purchased separately for this members' outside-of-class 2021 firing system.

-- For kiln safety and clay identification reasons, we only fire clay that was purchased through our art center.

-- Technicians are on-site at least once a week to arrange no-contact  pick up and drop off.

We offer members the ability to purchase kiln firing payment "packages." Firing is now purchased separately from clay factoring in pandemic costs. Due to limited administrative time, we only offer firing "packages" instead of single item firing purchases.

-- 1 BAG-WEIGHT FIRING:
Members can pay to fire up to the "bone-dry" weight of 1 bag of clay. When your pieces are completely dry, the techs will weigh them and add up their total weight. Once (after weighing a single firing or a series of firings) you reach the total 1 bag bone-dry weight you paid for, you will have to purchase another kiln firing package to fire more work.

-- 3 MONTH SUBSCRIPTION:
Members can sign up for a 3-month subscription for firing up to a bag's "bone-dry" weight per month for 3 months for a reduced cost. These 3 months are paid upfront. All items must be brought to the art center within 3 calendar months.

Notes:
Students can pick up pieces after their bisque firing to apply their glaze then return to the art center. See underglaze and glaze purchase info.

Underglaze is color that goes on wet clay before bisque firing.

Glaze goes on the second and final firing and can either be a clear coat or can be a color glaze.

You may purchase your own glaze and underglaze from different sources. Make sure it matches the firing level of your type of clay. Again, we only fire clay purchased through our art center.

We have 4 wheels available for member rentals. We provide *ground floor* delivery at set times of the month within a 20-minute drive radius of the art center. Social distancing and mask use are required during delivery.

The renters are liable for any damage done to the wheel beyond regular "wear and tear."  Photographs and before and after video recordings of the wheels in operation will be kept. For now, wheels may be rented only through June 30th. This period might be extended once we know the pandemic duration variables and how this impacts in-person classes.

Clay and kiln firing are purchased separately from wheel rentals.

OVERVIEW:
As of 4/12/21, we have opened up our studio for 1 or 2 members at a time for private open studios. The individual member or pair of members makes a 1-time payment to reserve the studio for 4 days of the month for 4 hours at a time. For example, the individual or pair uses the studio each Wednesday from 10 AM - 12 PM for 4 weeks, totaling 16 hours. If there happen to be 5 Wednesdays in a month, the individual would be charged for 20 hours (5 days x 4 hours).

ACCESS & LIABILITY:
Access to the studio is done via a time / date specific code lock on the door. The trusted member(s) has to sign a liability form, do a brief socially-distanced walk-through training, and adhere to strict safety and use guidelines. The member has to clean any mess made and sterilize his/her/their touched handles. The facilities are monitored with security cameras.

WHAT THIS INCLUDES:
The prices of all the previously mentioned clay and firing would be the same. A once-a-month payment for this 16-hour or 20-hour studio use package would be a separate cost.

1 MEMBER PRICE:
The price is $120 for 16 hours of reserved access a month for an individual. This is about $7.50 per hour. If there are five of a certain weekday in a month, the cost is $150.

2 MEMBERS AT A TIME PRICE:
The price for a pair of members at the same time is slightly more due to increased administrative time / costs working with 2 members. The total price for 2 members at a time private studios is $160 for 16 hours a month. This would be billed at $80 to each person in a pair and is $10 an hour for the pair ($5 an hour for the individual). If there are five of a certain weekday in a month, the extra day will be billed at the same rate.

We offer this first-come, first-serve for longtime members.
