Join us for a walk back in history to learn about the racist legacy of North Capitol Street, the significant role of this area as an epicenter of the African American challenge to segregation in housing and the dire implications of North Capitol Street's highwayization on the quality of life and the urban environment.
Hear and see on location how the North Capitol Deck Over Initiative's proposed Park would reconnect neighborhoods, restore our community fabric, and create a sustainable future that finally addresses our safety, our health and our environment.
Meet starting at 9am at the Heritage Trail Marker in the Park opposite 82 T Street NW | Intersection of T Street NW, First Street and Rhode Island Ave | Saturday, October 16th | Tour will start promptly at 9.30am and finish at 11am | Tour is LIMITED to the first 35 REGISTERED Participants | Covid Protocols Observed - Mask Required
