Women in Science II: Managing Interpersonal Challenges in the Supervisory Relationship

Temerty Faculty of Medicine Graduate Peer Support Network (GPSN) and Dr. Jennifer Rabin from Sunnybrook Research Institute would love to invite you joining our second workshop of  Woman in Science series: Managing Interpersonal Challenges in the Supervisory Relationship. The invited speaker is Aziza Kajan, the Director from UofT Centre for Graduate Mentorship & Supervision.

Description: Good supervision is a shared responsibility between a graduate student and the supervisor, requiring strong interpersonal communication skills. This workshop helps participants identify and manage interpersonal challenges in supervisory relationships, offering practical strategies and a step-by-step guide for difficult conversations. Participants will engage with case studies and apply their learning in guided group discussions to establish mutual expectations, uphold high academic standards, and address concerns with clarity, empathy, and understanding.
