Workshop: Bringing primary literature to the science classroom
Science in the Classroom (SitC) is hosting a teacher professional development workshop at AAAS Headquarters in Washington, DC. The goal of this workshop is to familiarize pre-service and current educators with annotated primary literature, strengthen their understanding of the nature of science, and discuss promising practices for using annotated primary literature in the classroom.

Speakers include Peter McLaren, NGSS expert and Director and Founder of Next Gen Education, LLC; and Sally G Hoskins, Professor of Biology at the City College of New York.

Pre-service teachers are invited to a special half-day session on Friday, September 15. All workshop participants will take part in a full-day of speakers and activities on Saturday, September 16.

Successful applicants will receive full support, including travel, accommodations, and materials. Space for this workshop is limited, so please complete the following application (note that, due to our budget, we are unable to offer full support to applicants form outside North America--please contact Shelby Lake (slake@aaas.org) with questions)
