Aboriginal Art - It's Ability to Provide Healing 

Dear participants, 

I would like first to Acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora nation and acknowledge the elders past, present and emerging - this is the land on which my school stands. As a non-Indigenous student, it is important to me to recognise the First Nations people to whom the land belongs. Thank you for taking time out of your schedule to participate in my interview/ survey concerning my HSC Aboriginal studies final project.

I am a Non-Aboriginal student at Christian Brothers’ High School Lewisham I am currently studying stage 6 Aboriginal studies.

As a Visual Arts student, I am also interested in pursuing the way Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists use art to express their heritage and identity and its ability to act as a vehicle for healing. I’m interested in this topic and am excited to understand better Aboriginal culture and how art influences and can be a powerful platform for expressing culture, therefore also providing healing.
