If you have MCS, please fill out this survey on the ASEQ-EHAQ website

We are deeply committed to advocating for people who experience Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS), and who are marginalized due to their health condition. We invite you to act with us and make a difference in improving the quality of life for those with MCS by removing barriers to inclusion. The barriers that people with MCS encounter, are scents and other chemicals that interfere with accessibility and therefore cause hardship, pain, and loss in their lives.

We appreciate your support in taking this survey and we encourage you to share it with your social network.

Together, we can raise awareness and reach more individuals who may benefit from our programs and services. Thank you again for your contribution to this important work!

On July 10, 2023, Health Canada released a letter of intent to propose requirements on the transparency of certain human health hazards of concern (HHHOCs) in consumer chemical products.
Many substances found in consumer chemical products, like household cleaning products, have been linked to human health hazards of concern (HHHOCs) such as carcinogens, mutagens, and reproductive toxicants.

Given the above statement, and since you experience the disability of MCS and react to chemicals in commonly used products, how would you rate, on a scale of 1 to 5, the way you feel about Health Canada’s statement that  "Many substances found in consumer chemical products, like household cleaning products, have been linked to human health hazards of concern (HHHOCs) such as carcinogens, mutagens, and reproductive toxicants."

“Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a group of over 4,700 human-made substances. These extremely persistent substances are used in many industrial sectors and are found in a wide range of products, including certain firefighting foams, food packaging, non-stick cookware, cosmetics, textiles, vehicles, and electronics” (Environment and Climate Change Canada, 2023).

___________________

“The broad use of PFAS and their presence throughout the environment has resulted in continuous environmental and human exposure to multiple PFAS, as supported by both environmental and human monitoring studies, including higher exposures in certain human subpopulations. Certain well-studied PFAS can adversely affect multiple systems and organs in both humans and wildlife” (Environment and Climate Change Canada, 2023).

Given the above, and as someone with MCS, were you  aware of these substances in commonly used products like non-stick cookware?
Clear selection
Given the effects to both humans and wildlife, would you consider limiting your use of products containing these chemicals (non-stick, waterproof, grease resistant products)
Clear selection
Do you think it should be clearly labeled when products contain PFASs?
