Mentoring (and Mince Pies)

When: Thursday 17 December 2.00pm - 4.00pm

Where: The Postdoc Centre @ 16 Mill Lane

All postdocs from all Departmental Postdoc Committees are invited to a ‘Mentoring and Mince Pies’ workshop for postdocs. At this workshop, led by Dr Sharon Saunders from Personal and Professional Development, you will learn about:

- What is mentoring?
- Getting the most out of the mentoring relationship.
- Being an effective mentee and mentor (As a postdoc, you may get the opportunity to formally or informally mentor another postdoc or PhD student.)

You will also hear about other mentoring schemes for postdocs which are already happening across the University.

Sharon is experienced in delivering mentoring training across the University and has offered a bespoke session for postdocs. The skills and information gained from this workshop can be applied to the wide variety of mentoring schemes at the University.

Who should attend?
All postdocs who are interested in finding a mentor, getting the most out of an existing mentoring relationship or are involved in setting up a mentoring scheme in your department.

Festive refreshments will be provided.
