The New York Association of School Psychologists is preparing for the 2019 conference and we are now accepting paper submissions. This year's conference will be held at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown, October 17-19, 2019. The theme of the 2019 NYASP conference is Building Safe Harbors. We will be discussing topics including legal and ethical practice, improving practices with marginalized groups and populations of students, building diversity and cultural responsiveness in practice, social/emotional health and well-being, trauma and crisis intervention, assessment, and the use of evidence based-academic and behavioral interventions to support all students. We are soliciting paper and poster submissions from our membership that would reflect the theme and goals of the conference.
Priority will be given to proposals that align with the theme for this conference. Be sure to indicate whether your submission is intended for a presentation or poster.
Include a summary of your proposal (≤1000 words). Your summary should include:*An overview of your presentation/poster*Please note whether you plan to present a paper or poster*A brief review of how the information is new and relevant to the field*Expected learner outcomes including the goal(s) and objective(s) of your presentation*References for your citations*Please use APA format for all submitted materials and references
Include a brief (less than 100 words) abstract of your presentation/poster to be included in the conference program.
Proposed submissions must be received by July 5, 2019, with a maximum of 2 proposals per lead presenter. As we are a green organization, we will only accept electronic submissions. Please note all submissions will be blinded prior to review. Presenters will be notified of acceptance no later than mid-August 2019 via email.
Please note that if your proposal is selected all presenters will be expected to register and pay the registration fee for either the full conference or for the day on which you will present.
