LFW believes international experience can play a significant role in developing one's sense of the world and of their own identity. We believe these experiences can be life-changing and transformational. We also know that a lot of young men of color are not able to participate in those experiences. We want to change that.
At its core, LFW is about psychological emancipation. The Leaders of the Free World Program is focused on the personal and professional development of young Black men. We teach our fellows to be self-reflective, to develop a sense of self awareness, and to connect that sense of awareness to leadership and global engagement.
We want to hear from you!We want to know what you feel were the most essential elements in your first international experience, that had the greatest impact on your perceptions of the world and yourself. What were your "Aha!" moments? How did the experience impact your life afterwards?
