Wordsmith 2020 Session Proposals
What: A craft, connection, and career conference for writers.
When: October 3–4, 2020
Where: McNamara Alumni Center, University of Minnesota
What we need: Proposals for 60-minute sessions related to: craft, publishing, tech and tools that are helpful to writers, establishing and maintaining a career as a writer, and aiding community and network among writers. Sessions in any genre or cross-genre are welcome.
We encourage people of color and indigenous people to apply. We also encourage session ideas aimed at marginalized voices within the various session tracks (Career, Publishing, Craft, Tech & Tools, and Community & Networking).
Compensation: $250 for sessions led by a single instructor or $500 divided among all presenters for sessions with two or more presenters. Travel, transit, parking, and lodging expenses are not reimbursed. In some cases, we may be able to add a visiting editor or agent to your panel with no reduction in compensation. Indicate below if this interests you.
Audience: Writers of all ages and backgrounds, levels, and genres. Anticipated breakout group size of 25 to 150.

The lead presenter will generally be our main point of contact. If you are submitting a proposal for someone else, please list the lead presenter here and indicate the best contact person below under "Additional names and contact information."
