Clovernook Center for the Blind & Visually Impaired Summer Camps 2023

Welcome to our registration for Clovernook Center for the Blind & Visually Impaired Summer Camps 2023. Camps are open to children who are blind or visually impaired. (We will have some limited spots for siblings for the day camps only – please see more information below.) Students may sign up for multiple camps.

Arts and Culture Day Camps
Grade Level Options:

  • Incoming Kindergarten-5th grade - July 17th-28th (no camp on Saturday or Sunday) - $100 tuition
  • Incoming 6th-12th grade - July 17th-28th (no camp on Saturday or Sunday) - $100 tuition
This camp will explore various Performing, Visual/Tactile, and Culinary Arts. Camp will be at the Clovernook Procter Center, 1574 Claretta Dr., Cincinnati, OH 45231 and will run Monday-Friday both weeks from 9am-4pm. Students will need to bring a lunch and water bottle each day of camp (snacks will be provided). Dropoff can occur as early as 8:30am and pickup as late as 4:30pm.

Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Day Camps
Grade Level Options:
  • Incoming Preschool-2nd grade – July 10-14 - 9am-12pm - $25 tuition
  • Incoming 3rd-7th grade – July 10-14 – 1pm-4pm - $25 tuition
Under the supervision of a certified orientation and mobility specialist this camp will help children with visual impairments learn how to navigate their environment safely, effectively, and efficiently. Camp will be at the Clovernook Procter Center, 1574 Claretta Dr., Cincinnati, OH 45231, as well as other locations TBD, and will run Monday-Friday. Students will need to bring a water bottle each day of camp (snacks will be provided). Dropoff can occur as early as 8:30am for morning campers and pickup as late as 4:30pm for afternoon campers.

Adaptive Sports and Leisure SLEEPAWAY Camp - Camp Abilities at Miami University
  • Ages 12-17 - July 2nd-July 7th - $695 tuition
This is a sleepaway, overnight camp at Miami University in Oxford, OH. All overnight accommodations and meals will be provided. Dropoff will start at 2pm on Sunday, July 2nd. Campers will be dismissed at noon following checkout procedures on Friday, July 7th. Following checkout, campers, families, and staff are invited to a celebratory cookout to share lunch and say goodbye to friends. We do not anticipate this camp being able to accommodate siblings at this time.

Other information about camps:

For the day camps only, we will have limited spots available for siblings (based on camp enrollment numbers) on a first-come, first-serve basis, and then a waiting list. If additional spots open up we will let you know. At this time, we can only accommodate one sibling per student with a visual impairment and the sibling must also fit into the same camp group (age or grade level). You will need to complete a separate registration form for each child interested in attending camp (child with a visual impairment or sibling).

Following submission of this registration, you will receive further information on tuition payment (if registration is accepted and a participation/media/liability waiver. We will also let you know if your child (or sibling) has been placed on a waiting list.
