GCAP International Speaker Call-out 2019
Thank you for your interest in participating in Game Connect Asia Pacific 2019 (GCAP).

Over the last few years, GCAP has grown into the premier game development in the Southern Hemisphere. The event is aimed at intermediate to advanced game industry professionals, attracting speakers from around the world willing to share their experiences and knowledge with the audience.

This year’s theme, LIGHTING THE WAY draws on the age-old symbolism of a light guiding us home through turbulent waters. There are undeniable risks and submerged dangers in the pursuit of game development, but the steady light from the lighthouse reminds us that it’s always possible to find a safe harbour. At GCAP this year, we want to explore how we can stand together to weather the storms of game development, making ourselves stronger than the sum of our parts.

As the event is aimed at the intermediate to advanced level, entry level talks will be limited. We are primarily looking for talks grounded in implementation and best practice. Post-mortems and talks based on recent, real world experience are welcome, along with talks from games adjacent practitioners with skills and experience applicable to game development.

We will only be accepting submissions for talks that will upskill local practitioners, helping the Australian game development industry grow and expand into the future.

On the following pages you will find all the fields required to submit your talk. GCAP consists of a number of simultaneous talk tracks, with each session scheduled for 45 minutes plus 15 minutes for audience Q&A. There is scope for longer talks where appropriate. If you think your talk should be longer, please include this in your application along with a justification for additional talk time. The event allows for multiple presentation formats, including lectures, panels and workshops. Please ensure that you specify your format in your application.

As part of the GCAP International Speaker Program, the GDAA may be able to provide a stipend to assist with your travel and accommodation costs. Updates on this will be available over the coming months.

Speaker submissions close on FRIDAY 28 JUNE at 6pm (AEST)

Our sincerest thanks for your interest and we look forward to seeing you there.

Melissa & Terry

Event Date: 7-9 October 2019
Event Venue: Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, Melbourne, Australia
