“Design for Development” is a series of design workshops held in various locations around the world dedicated to creating technologies and solutions to tackle social problems. Those hands-on events are a unique opportunity for designers, engineers, social practitioners, entrepreneurs, etc. around the world to engage and develop a holistic approach to alleviate poverty and social issues to those who are in need.
This edition is held at Information Technology University in Lahore, Pakistan. We will work with a severely under-served community in Lahore, and generate ideas for possible local solutions.
**The total number of participants for the workshop will be capped at 15. Please ensure you give detailed responses to the essay questions below (~300 words), so that your application can be evaluated properly in the competitive selection process. The quality of language used in your application does not matter.Also, if you feel more comfortable expressing yourself in Urdu or Roman Urdu you are more than welcome to do so.
***The workshop requires you to deposit Rs. 500 by 5pm Tuesday to ensure that you get registered. Once your application is evaluated, you'll get an email detailing the method to deposit the fee.
