Our Mental Health Matters Campaign
We hope you will be part of our campaign that will take place in 2022 for Santa Barbara County.

The form below is for any groups, organizations, businesses, schools, etc that would like to participate in our campaign by sharing a group photo and message that we can use in our social media posts. (SAMPLE IDEA BELOW). It will take less than 5 MIN to fill out.

Help us remind our community the importance of educating ourselves, leaning in, showing compassion, listening, and offering our support so those struggling don't feel alone.

Our goal is to eliminate stigma around mental health in order to normalize the conversation. When we stand up and speak out, we show that we care. We hope to encourage youth and families to seek help when they need it and remind others of how important it is to show compassion when someone is struggling with a mental health challenge. We want to remind our community that we need to treat mental health challenges with the same respect and care we show someone who has a physical illness or injury.

EMAIL outreach@youthwellorg with your photo and any questions.

Statements of Support
CLICK ANY THAT YOU AGREE WITH and WOULD SUPPORT PUBLICLY with your GROUP PHOTO
Our mental wellness is more important than...
Sometimes we can neglect our mental health because of other things in our life. [ie: Getting good grades. Trying to be perfect. Winning my game. Getting a job promotion. etc...]
We are [_____] but sometimes I need support.
Choose a word that fits for you... WE ARE [STRONG, SMART, FUNNY, SUCCESSFUL, ETC]. The idea is that regardless of our best qualities and who we are, there are times, we all need support.
We speak out because...
Why do you stand up for mental health? [ie: WE SPEAK OUT BECAUSE... "mental health matters and nobody should feel shame in asking for support. or "Everyone deserves to have support when they are struggling." etc..]
We could say...
Often people feel helpless and think they have to have the right thing to say when someone is struggling. [ie: We COULD SAY... "I am here to listen" or "I believe in you" or "Tell me how I can help you"]
We are what people with an invisible illness look like. Our mental health challenge does not define us. Our courage and our strength does.
We may do a post of many faces with the statement above. Would your group like to use this statement?
Our mental health challenge does not define us. It is just part of our story.

A mental health challenge is an illness, not a choice. You can show support by listening.
