Call for TDSIG PCE20 Proposals
Our theme is Outside the Hub: Underdog Forms of Teacher Development, so we seek talks which highlight approaches to and invigorate discussion about forms of teacher development that demonstrate a teacher-driven approach, a localised approach, and those that create sustainable impact. For more detailed information about our PCE, please visit

We welcome your proposal to speak at our PCE if you have participated in, organised, and/or developed a TD activity/programme for yourself or teachers in your area and wish to share the successes and learnings of implementing it as it may inspire others who attend our PCE.

While we don't aim to limit to the following topics, possible activities/programmes may include:
mentoring / peer observation / action research / podcasting / TD for specific types of teachers / video creation / etc.

Your talk will be 20-25 minutes long and link closely to the theme of the day. Ideal talks will engagingly highlight how your TD activity/programme has benefited your development in addition to explaining its rationale/process/results, etc. After your talk, you will also facilitate small group discussion in an open space session with attendees most interested in the raised issues from your talk.

As we are a charity, we offer accepted speakers the following reimbursements, up to:
- £100.00 towards one night's accommodation;
- £100.00 towards travel to/from Manchester (economy flight or second-class rail); and
- £10.00 towards lunch
- Free registration for the PCE

Leading up to the the PCE, accepted speakers will also be asked to promote the PCE with a short teaser about your talk. Following the PCE, accepted speakers will be asked to share slides with participants.

Deadline to submit: MONDAY, 30 SEPT 2019 (you will be notified of about your proposal in early October, so you can plan your trip accordingly).
