Event Overview:
The Nature Conservation of Canada, Nature Trust BC, & BC Ministry of Water, Land & Resource Stewardship invite you to an Open House to learn about the Recreation Management Plan for the Wycliffe Conservation Complex ("Butte Area").
The Wycliffe Conservation Complex is a connected series of 23 parcels of land that have been purchased, donated, or are provincial Crown land and are managed for conservation purposes. Situated about halfway between Kimberley and Cranbrook in the “Butte” area, the Complex covers more than 1,110 hectares (2,740 acres) of important conservation lands. These areas include intact native grasslands, open forests, and riparian habitats that provide critical support for sensitive, rare, and at-risk species and ecosystems.
A Recreation Management Plan has been developed to guide sustainable recreation while ensuring the Complex’s primary focus remains on biodiversity and habitat conservation. Residents and community groups are invited to an OPEN HOUSE to learn more, ask questions, and discuss how they can help support the plan’s implementation.
