Chorus Registration
Welcome to a new school year! I am so excited to be a part of growing the music program at WBE by providing an opportunity to represent our school through music in Chorus. Members will learn vocal techniques, repertoire, and showmanship as well as have opportunities for dramatic parts. Performances will take place several times throughout the school year. This group will perform at school events (such as the WBE Carnival and WBE’s Fa La La Festival), community events (Nursing homes and district sponsored fundraisers) as well as school-based concerts (one in the fall and one in the spring). We will consider other events as they arise and as we determine if they fit into our school calendar. Please discuss this opportunity with your child to find out if they would like to be involved in Chorus. Because many of our students are active in multiple activities outside of school, you should determine if your child has enough time to dedicate to our Chorus. Students will have the option to opt out second semester if they find that the commitment is more than they can handle. Likewise, if a student wishes to wait to join chorus until the 2nd semester they may do so. Our first rehearsal will be on September 3.

No audition is necessary for this group and rehearsals will be on Tuesday mornings from 7:30-8:20 am. Drop off will be on the side of the building through the music room door. I will put a sign on my door signaling that I have arrived. Lessons taught during practice can’t be recreated for those who are missing which is why attendance is extremely important. Please help your child make every effort to attend! Monthly calendars will be given out at practices and through email. Text reminders will also be sent out through Remind 101.

The fee for this group is $20 for Chorus T-Shirts, music supplies, performance supplies, rehearsal music, etc. Please make checks payable to “William Burrus Elementary” and write CHORUS under memo, then place in an envelope labeled with your STUDENT'S NAME + TEACHER + CHORUS and deliver to Mrs. West or the front office. Once your registration and fee are received, you will have a Chorus Handbook and Performance calendar emailed to you as a registration confirmation.
