Thank you for your interest in serving on an Adams County Artist Selection Panel! Each Public Art project is unique, and has a unique selection panel to help advise on the artist selection process. If you are interested in being considered for an Artist Selection Panel, please review the general time commitment and responsibilities and fill out the form below. *Due to the limited availability, not everyone will be selected. Panel members are selected on a rolling basis.
Artist Selection Panel Roles and ResponsibilitiesArtist Selection Panel members are responsible for helping identify thought-provoking artists that speak to a place, represent our diverse communities, add vitality to Adams County’s vast environments, and enrich and diversify the county’s art collection.
The role of the Artist Selection Panel is to recommend an artist or artist team to the Parks, Open Space & Cultural Arts Department or the Board of County Commissioners for a site-specific Public Art commission. For each project the Art Selection Panel will jury, vote, interview artists, and recommend the award. The panel will evaluate each artist/artwork using selection criteria that reflects each project’s specific goals.
Below is an outline of commitment levels and expectations. Panel members must be able to participate in all meetings and interviews.
Artist Selection Panel General Commitments & Timeline- Kick Off Meeting: In-person meeting, 1 weekday evening. Dinner at 5pm, meetings start at 5:30 pm, dinner provided. Date and location, tbd.
- Panel members review the project Call-For-Entry and scoring criteria, and learn the scoring platform, www.callforentry.org.
- Application Review: Online review, 1 week, estimated 3-4 hours total.
- Panel members individually review and score artists’ application materials through an online portal.
- Project finalists will be selected based on jury scores.
- Finalist Interviews: In-person meetings, 2 weekday evenings, 5 pm – 7 pm, dinner provided.
- Panel interviews finalists and recommends an artist/artist team for the project.
