Kindergarten Student Release From Bus Waiver
The North Thurston Public Schools Transportation Department Follows a procedure called "Must Be Met" for all kindergarten students. It requires each bus driver to release kindergarten students ONLY to an identified adult at the bus stop. If no adult is present, the student will be returned to the NTPS Transportation Department to await parent pick-up.  All kindergarten students are REQUIRED to maintain their Bus-tag ID in order for this process to be in place for your student.

There are two options:    
Exit With Sibling:
My kindergarten student has a sibling who rides their bus. My child is allowed to exit the bus with their sibling. If no one is present at the bus stop and the sibling is absent, my child will be transported back to the NTPS Transportation Department to await parent pick-up.
Not Met Option:  (Not recommended by NTPS)
My kindergarten student will not be met at the bus stop. I hereby waive the standard operating procedure, and give NTPS permission to allow my child off the bus without the presence of a sibling, parent, guardian or designated adult.
