Community Healing Retreat Series
In collaboration with the Kiva Center and the International Association of Trauma Recovery Coaching, we are creating an ARPA proposal to build the capacity of our community to respond to traumatic events of the last few years and increase access to mental health support. The intention is to move mental health support and knowledge into the mainstream. One component of the proposal is the offering of a retreat for individual healing and to build trauma informed community leaders. Together we will co-create culturally relevant content about mental health that can be easily adapted to specific audiences and immediately useful.  The learning outcomes of the retreat are aligned with the IAOTRC (International Association of Trauma Recovery Coaching) coursework, so if participants want to become certified Trauma Recovery Coaches, they will already be halfway done with classes. We will look to further align with Kiva's existing peer support certifications to build alliance, shared knowledge and community capacity. In the spirit of the "trusted messenger" we hope our partners will use their expertise to support the individuals already in their social environment. Please consider partnering with us in this work and let us know any role you'd like to play in the growing ecosystem of social and emotional support and trauma recovery.
